TV (mainly cartoons) have been blamed for giving kids short attention spans.

And I used to embrace it. I never really thought it was a bad thing. I liked how I was always so excited about different things and I was unpredictable.

Until I had to start high school.
Which means…
1h 15min classes which is sitting around listening to a teacher all day instead of interactive + creative learning.

1h-3h OR EVEN LONGER rehearsals which is just singing the same songs (sometimes even just 1 song) over and over again.
Exams, both studying and writing them. Like it’s not that I don’t want to study, I LOVE learning, I just find it very menial most of the time. And I can’t sit still. & same goes with exam writing except I get distracted by noises (although I’m getting better as my years of experience of standardized tests, which I’ve taken at least one every year since the 2nd grade)

Then I realized my attention span is definitely a problem.

Just because cartoons have been blamed for giving kids short attention spans (which is questionable), doesn’t mean they are responsible for your current attention span in high school. Check your sources when you hear stuff like that. You just stated and explained a whole bunch of things that that would contribute to a lack of focus. A lack of mental engagement in your day to day routine is a perfectly acceptable reason to lose focus, especially at the end of the school year.

But don’t blame cartoons. Cartoons are the best.

I love cartoons.
